When deciding on your internship, what did you want to experience and what did you hope to gain from that experience? 

I wanted to observe and partake in industry science amongst a  multidisciplinary team of scientists. I hoped to gain an insight into  the world of scientific industry and also gain further skills relating  to protein purification methodology.

Did you get the experience you were expecting and did you achieve the personal development you had hoped to make? 

Yes, I was quickly integrated into a large team of scientists with a  common goal. I also managed to partake and observe in a range of more  robust protein purification methodologies.

Did you discover anything about yourself or make any achievements that you were not expecting? 

I learned to not underestimate my knowledge of a subject matter and speak up when I have a relevant point to make.

Has  the internship made you feel differently about potential career options  and has it helped to put the skills from research into a broader  context? 

I still actively want to pursue a career in research  however I do now see the options I have in scientific industry as a  viable alternative.
